"Those Abandoned by God"

This one is from my writing journal that I bring around in school (before). One of my versions of Dylan Faust's past from my Lendgard Story.

NOTE: If you dont know what the "Gift" is, its the power to manipulate existence. Only a handful of 'Normals/Naturals' who were born into the world naturally have the ability handed by the "Creator". The 'Perfect' Beings, supposedly to be 'The Children of God' ('Angels' to the Normals/Naturals), were left behind due to rebellious nature of the 'Thinkers' (Angels who questioned the Creator and calling his actions immoral, etc.)

====================================

"There is a fine line between us... and the 'Normals'..."

He stares off into the snowing black sky as he lies on the ground, reaching for something with his left arm.

"We were created to be 'Perfect'... but in the end, we failed in his eyes. Do you know why we failed?"

His friend standing nearby shakes his head, not sure of what he's getting at.

"The 'Perfect' ones were the first humans created... and so, we were given immortality, the power to manipulate existence from one form to another, and to be loved by him. Until one day, we betrayed him, we rebelled against his principles in his ideal world, and he casted us off onto another world that was suffering."

Tears start to trickle down his face as he still lay there in the snow.

"For the last many millennia, all I've been doing was trying to recieve forgiveness, but it all failed... Slowly, the others begin to disappear, unable to hold on to their life any longer."

"You've been here since the 'Falling Sky'?" his friend asked.

"Falling Sky is just a name for us who were casted away onto this land, but it doesn't matter for me anymore... I soon too, will disappear like the rest."

"What do you mean by disappear?"

"I was never meant to be... we arent natural beings... just created for a perfect and ideal world, and now look... theres nothing left."

He gets up from the ground, wiping away his tears.

"It... was nice knowing you... Dylan. I guess... this is my last goodbye."

"Wait! Where are you going?"

"Soon... I'll return to the whole along with the others. I think its enough if we can return what was his..."

"So you're just going to disappear like that? What about Alice and your family?"

"I'm sorry... but you will watch over them. I cannot do anything... as you can see, I'm already starting to fade away."

Bits of him start to flicker and disappear, like the falling snow that melts away.

"I'll give you one thing though... this will be my gift to the only friend I've ever had."

His hand reaches for Dylan. Dylan grabs his hand immediately.

"Good bye then... Dylan Faust."

The last piece of him falls to the ground and fades away.
